Every university that admits to an engineering degree in Nepal publishes the rules that decide it: the exam pattern, the syllabus, the fee tables, the admission timetable and the reservation rules. They publish them in Nepali, in annual PDFs, in legacy fonts that will not copy and paste, on portals that change without notice. So most students never read them and rely on whatever a coaching centre said.

These pages are those documents, read page by page and written out in English with the page reference and the date attached. The library starts with the Tribhuvan University system, which admits through the Institute of Engineering and is the largest. Where we state something about this college, it is marked and it comes last. Where the official document contradicts us, the official document wins, and we say so on the page.

  • Every figure comes from the published documentThe IOE booklets and guidelines, each university’s own notices, and the regulator’s register
  • Every source carries the date it was readA portal changes without notice, so the claim is what the document said on that day
  • One named reviewerRam Raj Thapa, Admissions Officer
  • Where the official document disagrees with us, it winsAnd the page says so rather than quietly choosing

Priority order, the merit lists, the windows, and the rules that cost people seats.

  • Are IOE seats reserved for foreign nationals, and how do they apply?Yes. A number of seats equal to one twelfth of the full-fee seats at IOE constituent campuses is reserved for foreign nationals, and there are three different entrance routes depending on where you studied and whether your country is in SAARC. The published four-year rate is Rs 14,50,761.
  • What is the TU registration step after IOE admission? You submit one copy each of your transcripts, certificates and citizenship with the TU registration form and pay Rs 500 if you passed your qualifying examination in Nepal, or Rs 1,000 if abroad. Then you attend in person on the notified date with four photographs for your campus ID and library card.
  • How many IOE seats are reserved for teachers, staff and their children?Four in total across the whole Institute, not per campus. Two are self-advancement seats at BE and B.Arch level for permanent teachers and staff past probation, and two are Regular-side scholarship seats for permanent TU and IOE staff and their children.
