I missed the IOE application deadline. Is there any route left?
Two. A campus may take extra applications alongside its second and third merit lists if it announces them in advance, and vacant seats can be filled up to 2 December 2026, on terms that refund nothing at all if you later cancel.
Missing the application deadline is not necessarily the end of your year, because the published procedure leaves two routes open and they are very different from each other. The first runs inside the central timetable: a campus may accept extra applications alongside its second and third merit lists, provided it announces in advance which list the application counts for and the date it must arrive by. The second runs after classes begin. A campus may fill seats that have fallen vacant up to 2 December 2026, on a schedule it publishes itself, and a seat taken in that window is refunded nothing at all, campus deposit included, if it is later cancelled.
Route one: extra applications alongside the second or third list
A campus may accept applications alongside its second and third merit lists, inside the central timetable, provided it announces in advance which list the application counts for and the date it must arrive by. It is not automatic and it does not lower the bar, since allocation still runs on entrance merit.
What to do: contact each campus on your shortlist and ask two specific questions. Are you accepting applications alongside your second or third list, and what date must it reach you by. Ask for the answer in writing, because "come back later" is not a date.
What happens after the third list?
Central scheduling stops and each campus takes over, but the rules do not loosen. A campus running a fourth or later list has to publish its timetable by advance notice, has to fill in Entrance Rank merit order like every list before it, and has to do the admission itself through the central portal. The procedure also tells campuses not to suspend their admission process partway after the third list, because a pause at one campus stalls every other campus’s lists, and to coordinate with the Centralized Admission Monitoring Committee if a special reason forces one.
Route two: the vacant-seat window to 2 December
After classes begin, a campus may fill seats that have fallen vacant up to 2 December 2026, on a schedule it publishes itself. Read the terms before you take one: cancelling a seat taken in that window refunds nothing at all, campus deposit included, and you are joining a class that started on 16 November.

How late is genuinely too late?
The procedure gives three dates in a row and then stops, and the third one is the real boundary. Admission through the vacant-seat route runs to 2 December 2026. The Unique IOE Roll Numbers for everyone admitted that way reach the campuses on 6 December. On 14 December the Centralized Admission Monitoring Committee submits the details of every admitted student, roll numbers included, to the IOE Dean’s Office, and the procedure calls that submission the year’s final admission record. There is no clause after it. A campus that offers you something in the second half of December is offering something the published procedure makes no provision for, and the question worth asking, in writing, is which list and which date the offer sits under.
Ask a campus the right question
Not "do you have seats", which invites a hopeful answer, but the two things the procedure requires a campus to have published: the advance notice announcing the round, and the date on it. A campus running a late round has to publish a schedule for it. If nobody can show you that notice, there is nothing to apply to yet.
