How much does a four-year BE cost in Nepal?

A four-year BE costs about Rs 63,087 at an IOE constituent campus on a Regular seat, and about Rs 5,45,832 on a Full Fee seat at the same campus for the same degree — roughly nine times as much, with Rs 2,16,470 payable on the first day. Regular and Full Fee are separate seat pools with separate counts, and Regular seats are allocated on merit. Three different things get called a scholarship in Nepal: a subsidised Regular seat, rank-banded pricing at a private college, and discretionary support assessed case by case. Every TU-affiliated private college is required to admit 10% of its intake at a fee equivalent to IOE’s Regular rate. Cancelling costs money at every stage — 10% of the total or Rs 15,000 before classes start, whichever is less; 25% or Rs 35,000 within seven days of them starting; nothing at all refunded after that.

The gap that surprises people most is between the two seat pools at the same campus: roughly Rs 63,000 across four years on a Regular seat against roughly Rs 5,45,832 on a Full Fee seat for the identical degree, with a large share of the Full Fee amount due on the first day. The other thing worth reading before you pay rather than after is the refund clock, which tightens in stages and then stops entirely — after classes have been running a week, nothing is refunded at all.
