In one paragraph
Every BE seat at Imperial College of Engineering is awarded on the IOE entrance examination and on nothing else. Your +2 result decides only whether you are eligible to sit that exam; it carries no weight in your rank. After the result, Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Engineering runs central admission on its own portal at admission.ioe.edu.np, through three scheduled merit lists: you set a priority order of colleges and programmes, and each list places you against it. A seat is recorded centrally, so no college can offer you one outside that process. ICE has 192 seats an intake — 96 in Civil, 48 in Computer and 48 in Electronics, Communication and Information Engineering. The fee band you pay follows your entrance rank, and the merit award is built into the published fee rather than granted on top of it. The list windows and the priority order are what most often cost people a seat.
Getting in
Admission follows the merit-based entrance system of the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University. Seats go by IOE rank only.
The 2083 pass list is published. Find your form number in the official alphabetical list to read your rank, and download your scorecard from the entrance portal before 4 September, when it comes down.
Send your application with your entrance score. Selection is strictly merit-based, and nothing else moves you up the list.
The first and second lists are out and the third follows on 6 September. Admission from the second list ran to 3:00 pm on 2 September, and from the third it runs 7 September 11:00 am to 8 September 3:00 pm. Every list appears on this website and the notice board.
Each list opens a short admission window of its own, so hand in your documents and fee inside it. That is your seat confirmed.
Deadlines are published in Bikram Sambat. Check them against your own calendar with the Nepali date converter, and the second merit list for 2083 is published and searchable by your IOE roll number.

Money, plainly
There is nothing separate to apply for. A stronger entrance rank puts you in a lower fee band, and the published amount for that band is what you pay, so two students with the same rank pay the same. If your +2 aggregate was strong, a further award is assessed individually, so ask us before you treat the band amount as final.

Yes, and it is running to a published clock. The IOE entrance result 2083 came out on 4 August 2026, and the Centralized Admission Monitoring Committee fixed the whole timetable on 12 August: priority amendment closed 22 August, the first list came out on 23 August and the second on 30 August, and the third follows by 6 September. Admission from the second list ran to 3:00 pm on 2 September, and from the third it runs 7 September 11:00 am to 8 September 3:00 pm. Every date is on the notice board, and we will walk you through the one that affects you.
No. It is already inside the published fee. A better rank puts you in a lower band, and the price for that band is what you pay. Check the fee for your rank.
Typically your +2 or diploma transcript and character certificate, SEE certificates, IOE scorecard, citizenship or ID, passport photos, and a migration certificate where applicable. Confirm the current checklist with the admissions office before you come.
Civil takes 96 students; Computer and Electronics take 48 each, so cutoffs move every year. The 2083 second merit list closed at rank 7179 in Civil, 4882 in Computer and 6737 in Electronics, out from 6141, 2753 and 5567 on the first list — and they move again on the third. Send your rank through the application form and the admissions office will tell you honestly where you stand.
You wait for the merit list, and you do not have to wait alone. Lists go up on the website and the notice board, we call you when one affects you, and you complete enrollment with documents and fees inside that list's admission window. If your name is not on the second list, the third follows on 6 September, and seats do move between them.
The whole 2083/84 structure is published on the fees page, dated and set by rank. Ask the office for the signed sheet and the instalment dates before any money moves.
