What is the IOE central admission timetable, and how many merit lists are there?

Three, and all three are centrally scheduled. In the 2083/84 cycle they were published on 23 August, 30 August and 6 September 2026, each by 10:00, each with a complaint window from 11:00 to 14:00 and a revised list by 18:00. Anything after the third list is run by the individual campus.

The IOE central admission timetable is one published calendar that every constituent campus and every TU-affiliated college has to run to, so no college sets its own admission dates. Three merit lists are scheduled centrally, and each follows the same day: published by 10:00, complaints heard from 11:00 to 14:00, a revised list by 18:00, then an admission window opening at 11:00 the next morning and closing at 15:00 on its last day. Every list is filled strictly in entrance rank order. After the third list, allocation stops being centrally scheduled and each campus runs its own.

What were the 2083 dates for each list?

All three list days have now passed for the 2083/84 cycle. The table below is the schedule as published, with the one amendment IOE issued against it.

Why does the first window end on 28 August and not 27?

Because IOE moved it. The Guidelines set the first list’s admission window to close on 27 August 2026, and on 26 August the Office of the Dean issued a notice extending it by one day, to 28 August, citing the floods and landslides that hit several parts of the country that day. The notice tells campuses to arrange admission online or in person for the extra day. It does not restate a closing time, so it says the day and not the hour.

Which windows closed before the lists even started?

Two, and both are easy to miss because they run before any list exists. Applications for all three lists opened at 10:00 on 14 August 2026 and closed at 15:00 on 18 August. Priority amendment then ran from 10:00 on 19 August to 15:00 on 22 August, and B.Arch aptitude testing was allowed inside that same window. A candidate who was still deciding on 23 August had already missed both.

Every admission window closes at 15:00

Not at end of day. Every closing time in the schedule is 15:00, and a candidate who arrives at 16:00 on the last day has missed it with the next list a week away. The one exception is the extended first window, whose notice gives a date without an hour.

What happens after the third list?

Allocation stops being centrally scheduled. Fourth and later lists are run by each campus on a timetable it has to publish in advance, and the admission itself still has to go through the central portal. If someone tells you to wait for the fifth list, ask which campus is publishing it and on what date, and ask for that in writing.

Does the schedule pause for a public holiday?

No. The Guidelines state that the admission process may be conducted on emergency and public holidays as well, which is why a list day or a closing time can land on a day the rest of the country is not working. Plan around the published date rather than around the calendar.

Dates are the published 2083 schedule, converted from Bikram Sambat. One correction worth carrying: the BE/B.Arch Booklet 2083 says classes commence 2083 Asoj 1, while these Guidelines, which are later, say 2083 Mangsir 1 (16 November). The Guidelines govern. A future cycle republishes this same shape with new dates, so check the current Guidelines rather than reusing these.
