Why BS dates need a lookup table
The Gregorian calendar is an algorithm: three division rules give you the length of February for any year. Bikram Sambat is not. Its months follow the sun through the zodiac, so a month lasts however long that takes, between 29 and 32 days, with no rule that predicts it. Each year the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti publishes the coming year's month lengths, and that publication is the calendar.
So every honest converter is a table, and every table stops where the almanac stops. This one holds 89 years. Ask it for 2089 BS and it returns nothing, because the alternative is inventing a month length and handing you a date that is wrong by a day or two, which you would not discover until an office rejected the form.

Two things this gets right that many converters do not
Timezone. A date is not a moment, but most tools store it as one and read it back in your local timezone. Open such a converter from Kathmandu at midnight and from London at the same instant and you can see two different Nepali dates. All arithmetic here runs in UTC; Nepal Time is used only to decide what "today" means.
Fiscal year. Nepal's runs 1 Shrawan to the end of Ashadh. A date in Baishakh, Jestha or Ashadh belongs to the fiscal year that started the previous Shrawan, which is a common off-by-one on tax paperwork.
What it does not do
No tithi or panchanga. No public holidays, which are announced by government notice each year rather than derived from the calendar. No dates outside 2000-2088 BS (1943-2032 AD).
