One institution, two names
Imperial College of Engineering (ICE) carries forward the academic history of Janakpur Engineering College (JEC). The former name remains important to alumni, official records, historic documents, and people who still search for the college as JEC. ICE is the current institutional identity.
The college was established in 2058 BS (2001 AD). In 2082 BS, it moved from Kupondole, Lalitpur to Tathali, Bhaktapur as part of its transition to the ICE name and campus.
What continues
The college continues its relationship with Tribhuvan University and the Institute of Engineering framework. Students enter through the IOE entrance route, study the applicable IOE curriculum, and complete the university's academic requirements for their Bachelor of Engineering degree.
ICE currently offers three four-year BE programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electronics, Communication & Information Engineering.
What the ICE name represents
The current identity brings the institution, its Bhaktapur campus, and its engineering programs into one clear public presentation. The purpose of this website is practical: help students verify affiliation, compare programs, understand admission, plan fees, find the campus, and contact the right team without relying on outdated directory information.
Facts before slogans
College decisions deserve evidence. This site avoids publishing unverified placement rates, rankings, faculty credentials, fee amounts, or admission dates. Time-sensitive information is linked to the responsible official source or confirmed through the admissions office.
