What does Imperial College of Engineering charge for a BE?
Set by IOE entrance rank, from Rs 1,30,000 to Rs 8,00,000 for the whole four-year programme, with hostel and the Koteshwor bus included.
Every figure below is the total for the full four-year programme across eight semesters, not per year and not per semester. Read a figure like Rs 8,00,000 as annual and you are out by a factor of four, which is exactly the confusion that per-semester quoting depends on. The band you fall into is set by your IOE entrance rank and nothing else, the table is dated, and the same table applies to everyone in that band. Two things most published fee figures leave out are inside these ones: a hostel place for all four years, and the daily college bus from Koteshwor. Tribhuvan University's own registration and examination charges sit outside them, because TU sets those rather than the college.

Tribhuvan University registration and examination charges, which are set by TU rather than by the college, and food in the mess. A total presented with unnamed extras is the complaint that arrives in semester two, so those are named here rather than left out.
What are the TU charges, roughly?
They are published in IOE's own booklet and they are small next to a programme fee. TU registration is Rs 500 for a student who passed their qualifying examination inside Nepal, and it is charged only once, only to students not already registered with TU. The examination fee at a constituent campus is Rs 3,062 a semester, and that line is identical for Regular, Full Fee and foreign students alike.
Compare it against the right number
Not against a Regular government seat at Rs 63,087, which only 630 seats across five campuses provide. Against a Full Fee government seat at Rs 5,45,832 for four years with Rs 2,16,470 due on the first day. Do that arithmetic yourself rather than taking our word for which is better.
The 10% Regular-rate seats, here and at every other college
One IOE provision sits above every affiliated college's own price list, and it is better raised than waited for. Section 2.6 of the booklet requires each TU-affiliated college to admit ten per cent of its intake at a fee equivalent to the Regular rate, inside its existing intake target rather than on top of it. It is an obligation on the college rather than an award anybody applies for, and because it binds all ten colleges equally it distinguishes none of them. Ask any college you are considering, this one included, how many such seats it is admitting this year and how a student is selected for one. A college that cannot answer the second question is worth pressing on the first.
What the booklet says a student carries anywhere
Some costs follow you to whichever college you choose, so they belong outside a comparison rather than inside one. The booklet names Nepal Engineering Council registration, field study tours, extra subjects and any additional practical classes as charges the student bears directly. It states separately that arranging daily transport to and from campus is the student's own responsibility, at every campus and college in the system, and it prices no hostel place anywhere: the constituent-campus fee table carries two hostel rows and prints no amount in either. That is why a bus and a hostel place are worth checking for by name at any college rather than assumed, and none of it varies with a rank band.
And do not take this table on trust either
Ask every college for a dated fee sheet, ask whether the figure is per semester, per year or for the programme, and ask what is payable on day one. Those three questions settle most of it.
